Responsibilities
Collaborate in month-end activities, prepare journal entries, reconcile, analyze, explain variances, and create financial reports primarily for capital management, long-term debt, dividends, salaries, and pensions.
Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly and annual financial statements accompanied by comments.
Revise end-of-month entries and analyze major variances (volumes, distribution rates, customer additions, operating expenses, capital expenditures, taxes).
Provide data, reports, and ad hoc analysis for executive decision-making.
Collaborate on interim and year-end audits and assist with regulatory documents.
Write accounting policy decisions based on USGAAP, lead budgeting and forecasting, and update financial modeling tools.
Qualifications
Education & Designations: CPA professional accounting designation required.
Experience: 7+ years of relevant accounting and financial experience.
Languages: Bilingualism required (French & English). English is required as you will be dealing with client supplier and colleagues who are outside Quebec.
Software & Technical Systems: Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office with very strong Excel skills. Knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion is considered an asset. Solid understanding of Federal and Quebec Tax Compliance, USGAAP, and project profitability assessment methods.
