The Grant Officer will support the foundation’s mission by reviewing, analyzing, and managing incoming grant applications. This role involves assessing proposals, supporting the decision-making process, tracking grantee performance and handling a range of administrative and clerical duties.
This is an excellent role for a detail-oriented person with a passion for the field of mental health and the environment, strong communication and evaluation skills, and the ability to balance program work with day-to-day administrative responsibilities.
Working closely with the Executive Director, the Grant Officer will be responsible for many day-to-day administrative and philanthropic duties of the Foundation and will be a key contact for Foundation grantees, partners and service providers. As such, the Grant Officer is required to be in the office five days per week.

Responsibilities
The key responsibilities outlined below are general in nature and are not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible job responsibilities, tasks, and duties.
1.Grant Management
•Provide initial reviews and assessments of all new grant applications and review same with the Executive Director to ensure an appropriate response to the request.
•Monitor and track grants, follow up with grantees and draft & manage correspondence.
•Occasional site visits to current and potential grantees.
2.Database Management (currently Blackbaud, with a possible transition to Salesforce)
•Data entry, updating contacts, grants, etc.
•Prepare and present variety of reports generated using the database.
3. Foundation – General Administration
•Keeping the Executive Director’s calendar up-to-date and providing daily briefings
•Perform administrative duties including but not limited to mail, correspondence, answering the phone, office supplies, scheduling of meetings, maintaining filing systems
•Organize Board meetings and all other meetings and ensure logistics (e-mail invitations, printing and mailing of documents, etc.) and follow-up
•Perform updates (governments, company registrar, committees, board of directors, etc.)
•Act as a point of contact for internal and external partners and service providers
•Manage the Foundation’s website and content
Qualifications
•Kindness and a good sense of humor are a must
•Impeccable integrity, discretion, and confidentiality
•Self-motivated
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
•At least 3 years’ experience managing grants or projects in a dynamic and non-bureaucratic organization, ideally related to environmental conservation or sustainability initiatives
•Fluency in French and English, written and spoken
•Knowledge of or capacity to learn database software (Blackbaud and Salesforce) is a must
•Ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner
•Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a small, fast-moving team
•Motivated to work in person five days a week
