Responsibilities
- Data Management: Collect, synthesize, and compile data from various sources into a central standardized GIS repository to maintain the 911 road network.
- Application Support: Provide troubleshooting and technical support for GIS applications and databases, including developing and running SQL queries and managing data transformation.
- System Enhancement: Develop and implement improvements for GIS software, processes, and automation tools, focusing on data quality assurance and database performance.
- Analysis & Reporting: Conduct complex spatial analysis and create visual representations, including dashboards and reports, to track operational trends and performance metrics.
- Project Leadership: Provide technical advice on infrastructure life-cycle management, ArcGIS upgrades, and data standardization to support Next Generation 911 (NG911) readiness.
- Collaboration: Capture business requirements to update spatial business rules and conduct comprehensive testing and deployment of changes across the environment
Qualifications
- GIS Expertise: Extensive knowledge of GIS principles, practices, spatial standards, and ArcGIS software/databases.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with enterprise GIS technology, spatial database management (SQL, Access, Xbase), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Development Skills: Ability to review and develop programming code to enhance existing features and build new system functionalities.
- Project Management: Proven ability to lead GIS projects, provide realistic work estimates, and manage priorities in a multi-year project environment.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong consultation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to guide staff and manage client expectations.
- Analysis: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of interpreting industry best practices to develop innovative spatial solutions
