Responsibilities
* Manage full lighting projects based on technical plans (take-offs, verification, and product selection).
* Enthusiastically answer customer calls and inquiries, enter orders, and provide expert technical advice.
* Act as a proactive liaison between customers, electricians, suppliers, and manufacturers.
* Prepare quotes, respond to pricing requests, and participate in profit margin analysis and tender/RFP processes.
* Handle merchandise purchasing and carefully track orders and backorders to ensure timelines are met.
* Propose innovative alternative or complementary products to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction.
* Stay abreast of the latest market technology trends (lighting, home automation, renewable energy).
Qualifications
* 3 to 5 years of experience in B2B customer service, inside sales, or distribution (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
* Excellent proficiency with computer tools, particularly Excel and business management software.
* Strong intellectual curiosity, autonomy, professional maturity, and excellent interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of electrical, lighting, or home automation products (a major asset).
* Language Requirement (Bill 96): Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position. Our client operates Canada-wide and continuously interacts with stakeholders outside Quebec. The position holder will be required to communicate daily with English-speaking customers, partners, and suppliers outside Quebec, review technical specifications written in English, and participate in essential training delivered by English-speaking manufacturers.
