Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of the Insurance, Prevention, and Insurable Risk Management Department, the incumbent establishes and monitors insurance coverage for facilities operating under public-private partnerships (PPPs).
They also respond to these facilities' requests for all their civil liability, professional liability, directors' and officers' liability, and direct damage insurance needs.
They also participate in the implementation, management, and improvement of insurance coverage for specific sectors and client groups.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES - PPP
• Act as a first-line intermediary to address the insurance needs of PPP facilities and handle their questions related to insurance coverage;
• Validate and accurately forward requests, documents, and information from facilities to the insurance broker;
• Support facilities throughout the entire PPP coverage renewal process, including strategy development and updating renewal information;
• Support the operational management of insurance: confirm instructions to the broker, validate coverage obtained, and verify invoices (premiums, fees, engineering services);
• Support institutions in selecting and retaining insurance broker services by providing guidance and support.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze institutions' insurance needs and develop appropriate coverage, including issuing or overseeing insurance certificates;
• Advise institutions and insureds on all coverage options, contractual clauses, and their duties and obligations regarding insurance, risk prevention, and risk management;
• Monitor the insurance market to track changes in available coverage and contribute to policy renewals;
• Participate in communication and documentation, including drafting press releases and updating tools for insureds.
• Perform various related tasks as needed and requested by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
• University degree in law or a related field;
• College diploma (DEC) in Insurance and Financial Services Consulting or equivalent, and ten (10) years of experience as a risk manager for large companies or as a broker managing major accounts with complex liability insurance issues;
• Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and/or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) of Canada, and/or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation, an asset.
• Relevant experience with PPP agreements is an asset.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Superior verbal and written communication skills in French and English;
• Creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving skills;
• Values respect, collaboration, and teamwork;
• Sense of responsibility, rigor, autonomy, and professionalism;
• Influencing and negotiation skills;
• Judgment and discernment.
