Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as an Estimator
Under the supervision of the management team, the Estimator will have varied responsibilities touching upon both technical analysis and support for business administration:
• Rigorously analyze plans and specifications to understand the technical requirements of construction projects.
• Perform precise take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Proactively respond to inquiries from institutional clients via email and telephone.
• Develop competitive proposals and bids within prescribed deadlines.
• Collaborate closely with external stakeholders to clarify needs and propose innovative alternatives.
• Manage file openings, prepare production sheets, and order materials following contract awards.
• Calculate applicable extras and price adjustments during projects based on site realities.
• Simultaneously manage several active files with outstanding organization.
Qualifications
Skills and profile required
To excel in this role within the business administration and estimation division, you must demonstrate:
• An innate talent for interpersonal relations and the ability to persuade stakeholders.
• Excellent proficiency in reading technical plans and specifications.
• Absolute mathematical rigor and an analytical mindset.
• High level of autonomy and the ability to manage priorities in a multi-tasking environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Technical curiosity for custom-made products and construction site realities.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in estimating for construction or manufacturing projects.
• Technical diploma or training in architecture, estimation, or a related field.
• Mastery of the primary working language, both spoken and written. (French)
• Proficiency in Office Suite software (particularly Excel).
• Knowledge or basic skills in AutoCAD (a major asset for technical reading).
