Responsibilities
System Testing: Perform functional and non-functional testing for mission-critical health applications, including integrations, enhancements, and defect resolutions.
Documentation & Artefacts: Create and maintain comprehensive QA documentation, including test plans, cases, scripts, results reports, and defect logs.
Automation: Develop and execute automated test scripts using frameworks such as Selenium to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
API & Integration Testing: Query and test interfaces at the messaging layer using tools like SOAP-UI and Postman, focusing on HL7-FHIR based web services (RESTful/JSON/XML).
Data Validation: Execute complex data queries using SQL to ensure data integrity within Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and Cognos reports.
Security & Accessibility: Test security components (SAML/JWT) and perform accessibility testing to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.0 and AODA legislation.
Collaboration: Work closely with architects, developers, and product owners to establish effective test plans and participate in triage sessions.
Release Management: Validate successful deployment of releases in production environments and provide technical sign-off recommendations.
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in Systems Testing/QA, with a strong background in object-oriented environments and the full SDLC.
Healthcare Domain: 3+ years of experience working with public-sector healthcare providers and health-related IT projects.
Technical Proficiency: Proven expertise in testing COTS solutions, web applications, and HL7-FHIR web services.
Tooling Expertise: Hands-on experience with Selenium, JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, and API testing tools (SOAP-UI/Postman).
Database Skills: Strong ability to perform ad-hoc data queries and information retrieval using SQL.
Security & Compliance: Demonstrated knowledge of testing security protocols (SAML, JWT) and web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0).
Public Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with Public Sector I&IT project management methodologies, gating processes, and enterprise architecture artifacts.
Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, leadership ability, and a track record of meeting strict deadlines.
