Responsibilities
User-Centered Interface Design: Create responsive, effective, and visually appealing graphical user interfaces (GUI) for web and mobile applications.
User Research & Synthesis: Conceive and conduct user research, interviews, and surveys, translating findings into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using tools like Figma.
Workshop Facilitation & Stakeholder Alignment: Define and lead UX design alignment sessions, co-design workshops, and feedback reviews with business users and technical leads.
Usability Testing & Iteration: Facilitate product visioning through rapid prototyping, user testing, and iterative design cycles based on real user feedback.
Design Systems & Standards Adherence: Apply digital service standards and work with established design systems (such as the Ontario Design System) to ensure visual consistency across digital products.
Accessibility Compliance: Incorporate accessibility principles into design concepts, meeting WCAG 2.1 AA requirements and supporting accessibility testing for digital products.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers, business analysts, and QA specialists to communicate design intent, navigate technical constraints, and ensure seamless implementation.
Qualifications
UX/UI Design Experience: Relevant experience as a UX designer, UI designer, interactive designer, or similar role designing web and mobile applications (Strictly Required).
User Interaction & Prototyping: Demonstrated experience creating GUI designs, user journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes using Figma or similar design tools (Strictly Required).
Workshop & Research Facilitation: Ability to lead UX design alignment sessions, stakeholder workshops, and manage end-to-end user research from recruitment to synthesis (Strictly Required).
Accessibility & Design Standards: Knowledge of accessibility testing, WCAG 2.1 AA requirements, digital service standards, and working with modern design systems (Strictly Required).
Cross-Functional Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of collaborating with developers and business leads in a deadline-driven environment (Strictly Required).
