Responsibilities
• Proactively assist lawyers in managing and monitoring their cases;
• Maintain files and manage deadlines;
• Prepare legal documentation as needed;
• Format, proofread, and correct documents and procedures in accordance with legal and grammatical standards;
• Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment to alleviate the administrative workload of lawyers;
• Create, monitor, and maintain client files to ensure proper case management and excellent client service;
• Coordinate administrative tasks (accounting, opening and closing files, time tracking, billing);
• Perform any other related duties or responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
• College diploma (DEC) in legal secretarial studies or equivalent;
• 3-5 years of experience as a legal assistant, ideally in litigation or tax law;
• Bilingualism (fluency in French and English);
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
• Knowledge of Maître (an asset);
• Strong client service skills;
• Excellent communication, organizational, collaboration, and teamwork skills;
• Professionalism, autonomy, proactivity, and rigor;
• Adaptability, openness to change, positive attitude, and flexibility.
Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (oral and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to:
-communicate with English-speaking clients/partners/employees located outside Quebec on a daily basis
-work on client projects, products or deliverables that are required to be delivered to clients in English
