Our client is hiring a skilled Diesel Technician for their modern Edmonton shop. You will perform high-level preventive maintenance, complex diagnostics, and major component overhauls in a clean, supportive environment.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Edmonton, AB
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Day Shift)
Environment: Modern Fleet Repair Shop / Non-Unionized
Wage: $44.00 – $48.00/hr + Shift Premiums ($3–$4/hr extra for off-shifts/weekends)

Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections, servicing, and routine repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers.
Component Overhauls: Diagnose, rebuild, adjust, and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel systems, and turbochargers.
Advanced Diagnostics: Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, brake, and steering systems using computerized software.
CVIP Inspections: Conduct safety checks and officially sign off on CVIP inspections for operational readiness.
Documentation: Record repair details on digital work orders and accurately identify warrantable repairs.
Shop Safety: Maintain a clean, safe workspace while adhering to factory specifications and tolerances.
Qualifications
Certification: Red Seal (RSE) or Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician certification with CVIP sign-off authority.
Experience: 5+ years of practical tractor-trailer maintenance and repair experience.
Driver's License: Valid Class 5 required (Class 3 / Class D with air brake endorsement preferred or attainable within 6 months).
Tools: Must own a full set of personal trade tools and be proficient with power/diagnostic tools.
Background Check: Clean driver's abstract (no criminal check or drug/alcohol test required).
Physical Fitness: Capable of standard shop lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and occasional heavy lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
