Efficiently coordinate file follow-ups, deadlines, and schedules.
Perform basic legal verifications in various computerized databases (SOQUIJ, REQ, land registry, etc.).
Prepare and assist professionals in drafting correspondence, procedural documents, agreements, and various legal documents.
Participate in the opening, follow-up, updating, closing, and archiving of physical and computerized files.
Compile and manage document requests from third parties.
Review and index transcriptions.
Create and update document indexes.
Prepare authority, procedure, and engagement books.
Prepare expense memoranda.
Organize and manage file documentation.
Review and correct professional billing documents in collaboration with the billing department.
Assist professionals in preparing files and trials.
Perform all other related tasks.
Qualifications
College Diploma (AEC) or Professional Studies Diploma (DEP) in secretarial studies with a legal certificate OR relevant work experience.
Expert-level proficiency in English, essential for this business administration and legal services position.
Relevant experience in a Legal Assistant or administrative support role in the legal field.
Exceptional organizational skills and sense of priority, with the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
Excellent command of both French and English, both spoken and written, for fluent communication with a diverse clientele.
Problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
Strong client service skills and a friendly approach.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge of Maître and/or Carpe Diem software (an asset).
