Responsibilities
Daily Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of a Logistics Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
Coordinating temperature-controlled ocean import shipments into North America from various international sources, with a strong focus on suppliers in Latin America.
Proactively resolving issues within the supply chain, particularly with ocean carriers, forwarders, and suppliers.
Contributing to the overall success of the company through efficient and effective logistics management.
Assisting with other tasks as needed to support team objectives.
Qualifications
Fluency in English (both written and spoken), as the role involves working closely with the US market.
4-5 years of experience in first-mile logistics is required.
Exceptional communication skills across various platforms, including in-person, Teams, phone, and email.
Creative problem-solving abilities to address challenges as they arise.
Strong prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Assertiveness when necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Exceptional organizational skills with a sharp attention to detail and the ability to define and implement improvement initiatives, both process- and cost-related.
Highly independent, with the ability to take initiative
Strong understanding of import trade flows and processes
Collaborative team player, thriving in an open and cooperative environment.
Comfortable working independently or as part of a team, building strong relationships with colleagues both within and outside the department.
Experience managing relationships with ocean carriers and overseeing freight procurement.
Able to perform well under pressure, managing high volumes of shipments
Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word, with prior experience in SAPB1 an asset.
Comfortable with technology, including online platforms and EDI systems.
