Are you a versatile engineering professional who thrives in a dynamic, "wear-many-hats" environment? We are partnering with an industry-leading manufacturing and mobile equipment company that has been in business for more than 20 years in the Kitchener area.
...
They are currently undergoing an exciting phase of growth. As they scale, they need a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer or Engineering Technologist to join their close-knit, casual, open-concept office. If you love a mix of desk-based design work and hands-on shop floor troubleshooting, this is the perfect opportunity to make a tangible impact.
Advantages
Compensation: $24-$28 per hour, based on your experience and qualification level.
Hands-On Variety: A great balance of CAD modeling, data management, and out-in-the-field process engineering.
Career Growth: Play a pivotal role in a company undergoing a major manufacturing expansion.
Great Culture: Work closely with the Technical Director in a less formal, highly collaborative, and supportive small-team environment.
Responsibilities
CAD & Documentation: Create detailed shop drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMs) from SolidWorks models; update engineering shop drawings and BOMs to reflect "as-built" specifications.
Engineering Changes: Release Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as needed and add precise hardware details to existing shop assembly drawings.
Database Transition: Assist with entering and verifying data accuracy in a new database system as the company migrates away from MS Access.
Testing & Operations: Assist the Technical Director with equipment testing, data collection, and in-house projects.
Process Improvement: Look at shop processes, design jigs or tools, and support work instructions and new product development.
Daily Support: Provide day-to-day project coordination and administrative engineering support to the Technical Director.
Qualifications
Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician or Technologist program.
Experience: 1 to 5 years of experience is ideal for this role, although co-op experience will also be considered
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks, MS Office (basic Excel), and familiarity with SAGE or MS Access is an asset.
Industry Knowledge: Experience working within a fabrication or manufacturing shop environment is strongly preferred.
Mindset: Exceptionally detail-oriented (helping to clean up and organize engineering packages) with a flexible, small-company mindset—ready to jump in wherever needed.
Schedule: Ability to work full-time on-site, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
