Your role as a New Product Engineer is to provide expertise and support for the introduction of new products/processes. As well as helping to solve technical problems. You will be called upon to carry out and support various projects linked to product improvement, both in terms of quality and productivity.
Full-time daytime position, Monday to Friday
Location: 315 Knowlton Rd. Knowlton, QC.
Salary range: 80K to 100K To be discussed, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
As a New Product Engineer you will:
- Assume responsibility for the introduction of new products for assigned packaging lines or technologies;
- Plan and define the equipment and tooling needed to carry out projects;
- Monitor and coordinate project activities to meet or exceed customer expectations in terms of on-time delivery, cost and quality;
- Ensure effective communication with internal and external customers;
- Act as a resource and technical leader for account managers;
- Act as a technical expert to customers, perform technical analysis as required when problems arise with certain products, and intervene with the customer;
- Work closely and in a coaching mode with the group of mechanics and technicians in the execution of projects;
- Understand modern analysis and management techniques (PVA, PFMEA-FMEA, SPC, Kaizen, 5s, MTM, TPM, KANBAN, SMED) and integrate them into the processes to be introduced;
- Optimize human and material resources as soon as a product is introduced (number of operators, rejects and losses, product changeover times, washing).
- Analyze production costs and margins of new products and work as a team with the production group to improve yields;
- Produce high quality written reports in English (essential).
Qualifications
Skills expected of the new products engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering;
- Experience in packaging technology or other relevant experience;
- Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, cosmetics, etc.);
- Bilingual French-English;
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage priorities;
- Ability to manage stress.
