Responsibilities
- Prepare ship documentation; manifests, Bills of lading and other pertinent documents keeping the information up-to-date and ensuring proper compliance with regulations.
- Co-ordinate with the charterers and agents to ensure all the documents are prepared well in time for smooth port call turn-around
- Act in accordance with all relevant regulations and maritime laws.
- Process and document the information in our maritime documentation system.
- Assist with other documentation tasks as required and/or assist marine agency team.
- Assist other Boarding Agents with communication with the vessels to collect the information required by the different stakeholders.
- Participate in the monitoring regulatory compliance (ballast, cargo residues, Pre-arrival notifications).
- Communicate with various government authorities.
- Assist other Boarding Agents with the preparation of ship’s, customs and other pertinent documents.
- Assist other Boarding Agents attending to vessel arrival/departure (after hours while on duty).
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of maritime shipping and pertinent documentations is an asset.
- Experience in a fast-paced, corporate work environment.
- Highest standard attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable transportation.
