Responsibilities
- Set up, run, and oversee light food processing and packaging machinery according to daily targets.
- Load raw materials and packaging supplies into equipment to keep production moving smoothly.
- Conduct visual quality inspections on incoming ingredients, seals, labels, and finished products.
- Perform basic mechanical adjustments, clear simple line jams, and assist with equipment changeovers.
- Maintain a clean workstation following strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP food safety standards.
- Complete basic production logs, material tracking sheets, and downtime reports.
- Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and sanitation staff for smooth shift handovers.
Qualifications
- Experience: 6+ months operating light machinery, working on an assembly line, or packing in a manufacturing/warehouse setting (food industry experience is a major asset).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skills: Solid mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and basic math skills.
- Communication: Functional English (verbal and written) to follow safety procedures, read operating manuals, and log data accurately.
- Physical Capabilities: Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30–40 lbs for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
- Reliability: Excellent attendance, punctuality, and commitment to workplace safety rules (including required PPE).
