Responsibilities
• Draft and prepare legal correspondence and documents under attorney supervision.
• Conduct legal research and review legal journals to support cases.
• Assist attorneys with gathering employment, medical, and other case-related records.
• Attend legal meetings, hearings, or depositions and take detailed notes.
• Organize, maintain, and update case files, legal documents, and law libraries.
• Prepare, process, and file court documents including motions, appeals, and pretrial agreements.
Qualifications
MUST-HAVE Hard Skills:
• Legal documentation experience – Ability to prepare and process legal documents such as summonses, motions, subpoenas, complaints, and pleadings.
• Legal research skills – Experience reviewing legal journals, researching precedents, and supporting legal proceedings.
• Knowledge of legal procedures – Working knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, and government regulations.
• Relevant experience & education – Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies (or equivalent) with 5–7 years of paralegal/legal secretary experience.
SOFT SKILLS:
1.) • Strong communication skills – Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.
2.) Collaborative
NICE-TO-HAVE
• Experience attending hearings, depositions, or client interviews.
• Ability to support and guide junior lawyers on document preparation.
• Strong organizational skills managing law libraries and case files.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Prior experience working independently and managing multiple deadlines.
