Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Payroll Execution: Manage end-to-end payroll processing in compliance with federal and provincial legislation, including complex calculations (bonuses, retro-pay, terminations) and year-end reporting (T4s, ROEs).
System & Process Management: Maintain accuracy within the HRIS/Payroll platform (UKG) for all employee lifecycle changes and support system optimization and automation initiatives.
Financial Reconciliation & Remittances: Prepare payroll journal entries, complete monthly general ledger reconciliations, and accurately remit statutory deductions (CPP, EI, EHT) and benefit invoices.
Benefits & RRSP Administration: Oversee the administration of group health benefits and retirement savings plans, including employee enrollment/termination, deduction tracking, and contribution reporting.
Support, Reporting & Compliance: Serve as the primary contact for confidential employee inquiries, generate reporting for HR and Finance leadership, and maintain audit-ready records within the document management system (iManage).
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5 years of payroll and benefits experience, preferably within a professional services or corporate environment.
Education: Post-secondary education or professional training in Accounting, Payroll, HR, or a related field.
Designation: Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is required.
Technical Skills: * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and MS Office.
Experience with UKG (or similar major HRIS/Payroll platforms) is highly preferred.
Experience with document management systems (e.g., iManage) is an asset.
