Our client, a global leader in the retail sector, is seeking a Director, People and Culture for its South Shore of Montreal location. This key role is a unique opportunity to leverage your human resources expertise and contribute directly to the success of a renowned company. The Director, People and Culture will be responsible for the strategic management of human resources, focusing on change management, organizational development, and employee engagement. Reporting to the store management, you will play a leading role in creating a positive and productive work environment for a team of nearly 400 non-unionized employees.
Your leadership and effective communication skills will be essential in guiding the teams. You will be a strategic partner for the local management team, ensuring that human resources initiatives are aligned with business objectives. This position requires an individual with a strong sense of initiative, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for developing human potential.
This position is a bilingual role. The ideal candidate must have a level of expertise in French, as approximately 60% of the tasks will be performed in this language. The need for French is due to the requirement to communicate with French-speaking colleagues and partners on a daily basis.

Act as a strategic business partner to the unit's management team.
Lead and implement the human resources strategy in alignment with business objectives.
Oversee all aspects of human resources, including employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation, and benefits.
Drive change management and organizational development initiatives to support the company's transformation.
Promote a positive and engaging company culture, ensuring that company values are lived out daily.
Ensure compliance with current labor laws and regulations.
Manage and develop a team of human resources professionals.
Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on all human resources-related matters.
Qualifications
