Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Manager holds the frontline leadership role in overseeing both the strategic planning and daily activities of the production team. Their responsibilities encompass ensuring the seamless functioning of the shop, focusing on production efficiency, product quality, workplace safety, and personnel management. Additionally, meeting customer expectations regarding pre-established quality standards and on-time/on-budget delivery targets is paramount. The Production Manager directs and supervises various functional areas, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, quality assurance, and shipping/receiving.

Responsibilities
• Utilize resources and strategies to meet production requirements promptly, efficiently, and safely, while upholding a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction.
• Assess, guide, and recommend enhancements to manufacturing practices and processes to align with organizational goals.
• Achieve departmental and staff objectives by clearly communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating performance, providing guidance, counseling, and disciplinary actions as needed, and ensuring compliance with systems, policies, and procedures.
• Implement production plans by organizing personnel, striving for goal attainment, setting priorities, monitoring progress, adjusting schedules, addressing issues, and documenting outcomes on shift production reports.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance efficiencies, reduce labor overtime, minimize downtime, and control repair costs, implementing cost-effective solutions as necessary.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for operators in addressing mechanical failures or production challenges.
• Manage and review worked hours for payroll submission, including overtime and accurate job code usage.
• Make decisions regarding equipment utilization, maintenance, modification, and procurement, conducting tool/materials inventory as needed.
• Forecast labor requirements and coordinate with HR to fulfill staffing needs, while developing long-term advancement and succession plans.
• Lead, monitor, and evaluate staff performance through motivation, coaching, and improvement plans.
• Uphold organizational standards for product quality and service delivery, holding individuals accountable as necessary.
• Document any deviations noted during fabrication and collaborate with Quality Control Inspector for corrective actions or further steps.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety protocols, including program implementation, compliance, behavior, equipment operation, and due diligence.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
• Preferred post-secondary diploma/degree in a technical, engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of supervisory experience (or equivalent) in manufacturing or industrial settings
• Proficient understanding of diverse tooling, materials, and machinery
• Solid grasp of quality systems and standards
• Thorough understanding of health and safety standards, best practices, and compliance protocols
• Exceptional technical aptitude
• Positive attitude and solutions-focused approach
• Outstanding leadership abilities, with the ability to coach, motivate, influence, and inspire others
• Superior organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and quality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff including executive management
• Self-motivated and results-driven with a strong work ethic
• Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
• Professional, focused, and adaptable in high pressure/ambiguous situations
• Able to effectively use Microsoft Office, ERPs, and related applications
