Are you a seasoned construction professional seeking a high-impact challenge in global site management for major projects? We are currently seeking a highly qualified Project Director - Construction to manage complex infrastructure projects in Saint-Hyacinthe and the surrounding Montérégie region. This permanent, full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity to exercise strategic leadership and direct large-scale multidisciplinary operations encompassing civil engineering, building construction, and process mechanics.

As a Project Director - Construction, you will play a pivotal role within our client's organization. Based on construction sites in the Saint-Hyacinthe area and working in a hybrid model, you will oversee global direction, strategic planning, budget management, and operational performance for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects as well as major civil engineering structures. You will directly manage a dedicated team of project managers specializing in civil engineering, building structures, and process mechanics. This role requires strong operational mastery of heavy industrial and institutional construction, proven financial acumen for rigorous budget tracking, and deep expertise leading projects as a general contractor.

This position falls directly within our engineering & design specialization. As part of our activities in engineering & design, we support high-performing technical teams in delivering complex, innovative, and sustainable infrastructure projects. As a Project Director - Construction operating within the engineering & design sector, your strategic vision will ensure optimal synergy between formwork, building structures, civil works, and specialized water treatment process mechanics installations.

Responsibilities
• Provide overall leadership, strategic planning, and successful delivery for major integrated construction projects in Saint-Hyacinthe and the surrounding region.
• Lead, mentor, and support a team of project managers and specialized project leads across civil engineering, building construction, and process mechanics departments.
• Oversee the development of detailed project schedules, analyzing work sequences and critical path execution.
• Manage overall budget control for major projects and update monthly financial forecasts, including variance analysis, cost savings, and cost overruns.
• Negotiate and administer major procurement and subcontracting agreements for civil engineering, building mechanics, and structural packages.
• Identify value engineering, cost optimization, and savings opportunities while maintaining uncompromising quality and safety standards on site.
• Act as a strategic point of contact for municipal and institutional clients, engineering partners, and major subcontractors.
• Promote best practices in occupational health and safety while ensuring seamless coordination between site operations and executive leadership.

Qualifications
• Exceptional mobilizing leadership and demonstrated ability to unite multidisciplinary teams around shared objectives.
• Strong commercial negotiation skills, expertise in major contract administration, and complex problem-solving abilities.
• High financial acumen, rigorous budget tracking skills, and strong management control for large-scale projects.
• Proficiency with construction project management and scheduling software (Microsoft Office suite, MS Project, Fieldwire).
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, including at least 3 to 5 years in a senior management or executive direction role on major projects.
• In-depth hands-on experience in global management of multidisciplinary job sites (combining civil works, building structures, and process mechanics / water treatment).
• Professional Engineer designation with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is a major asset.
