Advise business stakeholders on contractual risks, emerging global regulatory updates, and strategic sourcing considerations.
Support vendor risk assessments, contract compliance audits, issue escalations, and policy enforcement across vendor portfolios.
Partner with Procurement, Risk, Technology, and business units to align vendor agreements with operational requirements and risk tolerances.
Prepare comprehensive contract status reports, risk analytics, and executive updates to support management decision-making.
Provide expert guidance and coaching to junior contract managers and internal partners regarding IT contracting standards and best practices.
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across contract templates, workflow automation, internal controls, and vendor risk governance frameworks.
Qualifications
Core Requirements & IT Contracting Experience
Professional Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in IT contracting, third-party risk management, vendor governance, procurement, or a related enterprise discipline.
Negotiation & Contract Expertise: Strong hands-on experience reviewing and negotiating complex IT agreements, including SaaS, cloud infrastructure, software licensing, professional services, cybersecurity, and data protection contracts.
Regulatory Framework Knowledge: Deep familiarity with OSFI B-10, OCC guidance, and global privacy legislation (PIPEDA, GLBA, GDPR, CCPA).
Technical & Tooling Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and vendor/risk management platforms (such as Archer, Ivalua, or ProcessUnity).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Information Technology, Procurement, Risk Management, or a related field. (A Master’s degree, MBA, or Law degree is preferred).
Preferred Assets
Industry Background: Prior experience within financial services, wealth management, capital markets, insurance, or corporate technology sectors.
Security Frameworks: Working knowledge of cybersecurity and risk frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, or ISO 27001.
Vendor Security Reviews: Experience conducting or overseeing third-party information security assessments.
Language Skills: Proficiency in Japanese and/or Chinese is considered an asset.
Soft Skills & Strategic Attributes
Stakeholder Negotiation & Influence: Proven ability to manage complex, multi-party negotiations and influence stakeholders across business units.
