      We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator for a well established heavy industrial client of ours in the Vancouver area. The position is responsible for site level safety programs and training, and emergency response training. The incumbent will work closely with all levels of management and staff on site.Advantages-Very competitive compensation package including bonus structure-Excellent benefits packageResponsibilities-Plant Safety including, but not limited to, ensure tasks assigned in IMS are properly documented and completed on time, work with foreman and maintenance supervisors to ensure relevant information is passed between plant personnel, project leaders and contractors in regard to project management, track and coordinate all regulatory and company mandatory training programs (forklifts, confined space, hearing protection, fit testing etc).-Provide comprehensive and effective EHS training and orientations.-Incident investigations.-Conduct periodic assessments or inspections of EHS programs to identify and correct deficiencies related to compliance with the EHS policies and procedures.-Act as the link between contractors and operations, contractor permitting for projects, assist Project Mangers with planning, and oversee tie-inns for projects-Emergency Response, including, but not limited to, planning drills on site, organize on site Emergency response training.Qualifications-Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or science, occupational health or safety, industrial hygiene, or professional and/or industry certifications in environmental, safety, or industrial hygiene Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, etc.-Minimum 3 years of related safety management and/or environmental responsibility, preferably in chemical manufacturing or related environment.-Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to build consensus and influence others.-Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential with the ability to use databases for trending.-Exceptional organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to adapt to changing list of priorities based on needs of the company, regulatory compliance, and management of risk.-Training or knowledge of Hazardous material response (40 hr.
