Responsibilities
· The Contract Professional Level 1 ensures compliance with contracts of low to medium complexity, so that ongoing operations are delivered safely, with quality, within budget, and on time
Experience and Role Accountabilities
· A minimum five (5) years of contract management work experience, including reporting related to performance and expenditures.
· Perform contract management activities by applying strong knowledge of contract management practices, with an emphasis on financial controls, compliance, and reporting accuracy.
· Ensure BC Hydro and vendors fulfill their contractual obligations by monitoring performance, tracking financial commitments and expenditures, identifying issues, proposing timely corrective action, and communicating with stakeholders to minimize financial and operational risk.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships through timely communication, issue resolution, and the preparation of clear, reliable reporting that supports financial transparency and informed decision‑making.
· Monitor, reconcile, and report on contract usage and spend to ensure alignment with governance framework, financial control policies, and approved budget requirements.
· Provide guidance and advice to internal stakeholders on the effective public sector contract administration, financial stewardship principles, and performance management practices to ensure fiscal accountability and value.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related discipline, or equivalent
· Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken
· Strong working knowledge of project management principles
· Advanced skills in computer applications such as SAP and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project)
