      Your challenge! Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager's mission is to achieve the manufacturing objectives associated with the unit's business strategy by optimizing available resources, rigorously applying business processes and establishing an effective communication system. You participate in the implementation of processes, practices and tools specific to your unit aimed at optimizing operational efficiency. You also build a mobilized and competent team and support their production efforts while nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and health and safety. As such, you contribute to the achievement of your unit's strategic plan by positively influencing the adoption of healthy and safe behaviours, operating costs, performance, and production capacity and quality. As Cascades has a culture of succession development, we are looking for a Junior Production Manager who will be on a succession program. This person will be paired with an experienced manager to learn about Cascades' operations and culture in order to eventually move into a production manager position in a plant. The position is based in Montreal for the first few years and may be called upon to change depending on the positions available and the needs in the plants. Your responsibilities As a Production Manager you will be responsible for Ensure employee commitment, respect and compliance in OHS mattersEnsure leadership development of production supervisorsFollow up on the performance evaluation of production employeesEnsure compliance with customer specifications during the manufacturing and production of productsApprove work instructions in collaboration with the quality managerControl labor and raw material costsParticipate in the preparation of the production budget and capital projects Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities of the production departmentIncrease efficiency and participate in continuous improvement projectsMaintain and improve the equipment operational maintenance programFollow up on the program and ensure compliance with the preventive maintenance schedule.Your background and strengths The Production Manager must have the following qualifications: Have a Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering or other education deemed relevant;Have 1 to 5 years of experience in production supervision in the manufacturing field;Demonstrate collaborative, open and team-oriented leadership, goal setting, performance evaluation, recognition and training;Excellent communication and change management skills;Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while respecting deadlines and priorities;Lean manufacturing certification (an asset);Master production management software such as SAP (an asset);Have a good command of French and English (spoken and written). #revealyourpotential #LifeAtCascadesCascades believes in the success of an inclusive organization that values diversity within its team.
