In this role, you will serve as a critical bridge between data, business, and technical teams to deliver accurate, complete, and high-quality data into SAP S/4HANA. This is a hands-on position requiring a blend of technical capability in ETL/data profiling and functional alignment to ensure future-state business processes are seamlessly supported by the migrated data blocks.
...
Advantages
Deliver Migration-Ready Data: Achieve high-quality, validated, and reconciled data successfully migrated into SAP S/4HANA through stable, predictable mock cycles.
Reduced Data Defects & Rework: Ensure data issues are identified early, analyzed correctly, and systematically resolved through effective cleansing, mapping updates, or technical fixes.
Clear Data Visibility: Provide executive and project stakeholders with reliable dashboards, reports, and metrics tracking overall data quality and readiness.
Responsibilities
1. Data Analysis & Migration Execution
Support end-to-end data migration activities transferring data from SAP ECC and other legacy source systems to SAP S/4HANA.
Analyze source system data to thoroughly assess completeness, accuracy, and technical readiness.
Maintain and update critical data migration artifacts, including Source-to-Target mappings, data validation rules, transformation logic, and comprehensive data object/structure documentation.
Develop a deep operational understanding of business process data sets across ECC, S/4HANA, and integrated peripheral systems.
2. Mock Cycles & Defect Management
Execute and support data migration mock cycles (Mock 1, Mock 2, etc.) including re-runs and stabilization activities.
Analyze migration run results, manage data defects, and drive exceptions through to final resolution.
Produce, review, and validate data quality reports, exception logs, and reconciliation results to support go/no-go data readiness assessments.
3. Data Cleansing & Technical Support
Collaborate closely with Data Stewards to review, validate, and support hands-on data cleansing outcomes and remediation planning.
Identify recurring data quality trends and contribute directly to root-cause analysis.
Provide functional oversight and unit testing for data migration objects built in SAP BODS.
Assist Technical Data Analysts with ETL development, troubleshooting, data extraction, and loading processes.
4. Cross-Functional Alignment & Analytics
Partner with SAP functional teams to define data requirements and validate that business data object mappings accurately support future-state processes.
Develop and maintain automated dashboards and data analysis profiles using Microsoft Power BI.
Work closely with the System Integrator (SI) to review profiling results, verify migration loads, and troubleshoot joint migration issues.
Qualifications
Core Requirements
Experience: 3–7 years of professional experience in data analysis or data migration roles, specifically within large-scale SAP or ERP transformation programs.
System Pedigree: Proven experience supporting SAP data migration projects (ECC to S/4HANA path is highly preferred).
Technical Toolkit: Hands-on experience using SAP BODS (or equivalent enterprise ETL tools) alongside MS Power BI for dashboard development.
Analytical Depth: Advanced Excel skills (pivots, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, data profiling filters) with a demonstrable history of producing clear data quality and exception reports.
Technical Skills Matrix
SAP Data Structures: Solid familiarity with SAP ECC and S/4HANA data tables, master data characteristics, and relational dependencies.
Migration Concepts: Thorough understanding of data profiling, mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation frameworks.
Mock Cycle Execution: Experience navigating full mock runs, defect triage, re-runs, and cutover readiness activities.
Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)
Exposure to core SAP master data objects (e.g., Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance).
Prior experience working within large, regulated enterprise environments (such as Energy, Utilities, or Finance).
Familiarity with advanced migration utilities such as SAP Migration Cockpit or SAP MDG (Master Data Governance).
Ways of Working (Soft Skills)
Detail-Oriented: Highly meticulous nature; critical for ensuring migration accuracy, resolving validation anomalies, and tracking data defects.
Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex data issues, defects, and structural findings to non-technical business stakeholders.
Accountability: Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to independently manage multiple data objects, priorities, and tight mock timelines concurrently.
