Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and timely.
General Ledger Management: Oversee ledger maintenance, prepare complex journal entries, and perform high-level account reconciliations.
Audit & Compliance: Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current accounting workflows and implement automated solutions to enhance departmental productivity.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and review the work of junior accounting staff to ensure professional growth and data accuracy.
Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and perform monthly variance analysis to explain "the why" behind the numbers.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred).
Certification: CPA or CMA designation is highly preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior-level role.
Technical Skills: * Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Macros).
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, a proactive "problem-solver" mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
