Position Overview
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a driven Senior Accountant, Cross-Border/US Tax to join their dynamic team. In this role, your expertise will drive meaningful outcomes for a diverse client base, while your leadership will help mentor the next generation of accounting professionals. You will collaborate closely with partners on complex tax planning and play a pivotal role in both Canadian and US tax compliance.

Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Preparation: Prepare and review corporate and personal US tax returns, as well as Canadian corporate (T2), personal (T1), and trust (T3) tax returns.
- Cross-Border Advisory: Assist partners with complex cross-border tax planning, strategy, and compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review Compilation Engagement Reports and manage T4/T5 summaries and slips.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a mentor to junior staff, guiding their technical development and reviewing their work.
- Ad-Hoc Support: Handle other accounting, tax, and administrative duties as required to support the team’s success.
Qualifications
-Designation: Canadian CPA designation is required. A US CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) status is considered a strong asset.
-Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in public practice accounting and tax, alongside at least 2 years of progressive cross-border tax experience.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a "can-do" attitude and a desire to take on new challenges.
-Thrive Under Pressure: The ability to excel and maintain accuracy in high-pressure, deadline-driven working environments.
-Career Goals: A genuine desire to grow your long-term career within a reputable, mid-sized public accounting firm.
