As a principal business analyst, you will bridge the gap between complex operational business units and data engineering squads. Operating on-site, you will lead end-to-end requirements elicitation, construct detailed source-to-target data mappings, define transformation logic, and enforce strict data governance rules. This position demands a well-rounded expert who can confidently model relational structures, produce clear data dictionaries, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, analytics-ready datasets.

Lead end-to-end business, functional, non-functional, data, integration, and reporting requirements gathering across diverse stakeholder networks.
Translate complex operational needs into clear Agile user stories, explicit feature acceptance criteria, business rules, and detailed requirements traceability matrices.
Analyze current-state relational and non-relational datasets to document data elements, lineage, and structural dependencies.
Define target relational structures, including entities, normalized table relationships, and primary/foreign key mappings aligned with core business domains.
Develop column-level source-to-target mappings, SQL-ready transformation logic, and end-to-end data lineage specifications.
Author core architectural artifacts, including business process maps, workflows, data flow diagrams, and integration interface specs.
Establish and maintain master data dictionaries, standardized data definitions, metadata guidelines, and naming conventions aligned with enterprise data governance frameworks.
Design and enforce data management validation processes, intake workflows, and quality controls to guarantee completeness and analytics readiness.
Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams to ensure functional requirements are feasible and structurally aligned with target cloud platforms.
Facilitate stakeholder workshops, design reviews, and requirements alignment sessions across multi-disciplinary project groups.
Qualifications
Core Business Analysis & Technical Requirements
Professional BA Tenure: 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting medium-to-large enterprise digital projects.
End-to-End Requirements Leadership: 5+ years leading comprehensive requirements elicitation across business, functional, data, and reporting domains.
Data Management & Governance: 5+ years applying data management, metadata, data quality, and data lifecycle governance frameworks within complex environments.
Data Modeling & Integration Depth: 5+ years analyzing data structures, mapping column-level transformations, establishing data lineage, and defining validation rules.
Agile Tooling Mastery: High proficiency using Agile tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira within Scrum or Kanban frameworks.
Data Architecture Knowledge: Strong understanding of relational data modeling, data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT transformation pipelines, and enterprise data platforms (such as Azure, Databricks, Oracle, or Azure SQL).
Preferred Assets & Domain Attributes
Public Sector & Domain Context: Experience working within public sector environments, with familiarity in company, policing, or corrections data domains considered a strong asset.
Clearance Status: Active OPP Level 4 clearance (or eligibility to attain clearance prior to engagement start) is mandatory.
