As a principal business analyst, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders, subject matter experts, technical architects, and development squads. Operating fully onsite in Toronto within an Agile delivery framework, you will lead requirements gathering sessions, construct conceptual and logical data models, formulate use case surveys, and define business rule automation strategies. This position demands an analytical authority with experience in healthcare or clinical contexts who can translate complex operational needs into clear technical specifications, ensure regulatory alignment, and support system transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities
Lead and conduct comprehensive business analysis to assess business challenges, identify opportunities, and document detailed business and functional requirements.
Develop business models, use case models, conceptual and logical data models, process flows, and data flow diagrams for complex technology solutions.
Define and document explicit business rules, business rule automation workflows, and non-functional requirements.
Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, interviews, JAD workshops, and walkthroughs with cross-functional stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Apply business process transformation and re-engineering concepts to promote operational improvements and cost-effective service delivery.
Support systems development using rules engines and business process automation platforms.
Align business analysis deliverables with standard enterprise methodologies, gating frameworks, and architecture principles.
Formulate test cases, test scenarios, and user acceptance testing (UAT) strategies, ensuring requirements traceability.
Evaluate privacy, security, and accessibility considerations (including AODA standards) throughout solution design.
Develop project approval documents, business cases, feasibility studies, and training/communication materials to support system implementations.
Monitor project progress, resolve business logic bottlenecks, and report status regularly to management decision-makers.
Qualifications
Core Requirements & Technical BA Expertise
Rules Engine & Automation Experience: Demonstrated experience in business analysis supporting systems development using a rules engine or business process automation platform.
Core Modeling Artifacts: Proven experience developing business models, use case models, conceptual and logical data models, process/data flow models, use case surveys, test cases, and business rules definitions.
Agile Delivery Methodology: Demonstrated experience leading business analysis activities within Agile software development frameworks.
Enterprise Business Analysis: Demonstrated track record leading business analysis to assess business problems/opportunities and documenting detailed requirements across the project lifecycle.
Domain Experience (Healthcare/Clinical): Demonstrated experience performing business analysis within a healthcare, clinical, claims adjudication, or pharmaceutical context.
Preferred Assets
Privacy & Compliance: Experience with privacy and security requirements for software development within clinical or healthcare contexts, as well as AODA standards.
