Responsibilities
Architectural Design: Develop and implement data architectures for application development, including data distribution, database location strategy, and access methodologies.
Modelling & Warehousing: Create and maintain enterprise-level logical and physical data models using dimensional and Delta Lake concepts.
Technical Leadership: Design and articulate complex technical concepts into development work packages; oversee the construction of data warehouses on the MS Stack (ADF, Databricks, SQL).
BI Optimization: Perform deep performance tuning of BI applications, including schema optimization and SQL stored procedure refinement.
Documentation: Expand documentation of business processes relative to available data; maintain a comprehensive data dictionary.
Testing & QA: Define and execute test plans (Unit, System, UAT) across the development lifecycle to ensure functionality and security.
Collaboration: Coordinate with Business Analysts and Developers to refine requirements and address interdependencies.
Qualifications
Core Expertise: 7+ years of experience in BI Data Architecture, data warehouse design, and dimensional modelling.
Azure Mastery: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake and Azure Databricks SQL Warehouse.
SQL Proficiency: 5+ years of advanced SQL experience (T-SQL and PL/SQL), including writing stored procedures and packages for datamarts.
Tools: Extensive knowledge of modelling tools such as PowerDesigner or Visio, and BI metadata tools like Power BI.
Cloud DevOps: Demonstrated experience within the Azure DevOps environment.
Design Excellence: Proven track record in creating both Functional (FDD) and Detailed Design Documents (DDD).
Niche Knowledge (Assets): Familiarity with IBM Cúram (SAMS) and Enterprise Architecture frameworks like TOGAF or ArchiMate.
