Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support AWS cloud environments, configuring resources such as VPCs, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and Auto-scaling groups.
- Provide expert-level support for Red-Hat/Unix systems, including installation, troubleshooting, OS hardening, and automation via scripting.
- Manage the deployment and automation of packages for cloud-based systems using tools like Gitlab, Ansible, Jenkins, and Maven.
- Administer Kubernetes and Docker container solutions to manage microservices and distributed application architectures.
- Implement robust cloud security models focusing on identity, network, and encryption; regularly review logs to proactively prevent unauthorized access.
- Monitor and assess application performance using AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail to ensure system scalability and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain detailed system design models, integration plans, and technical specifications for solutions in sustainment.
- Provide technical leadership and consulting to stakeholders, identifying areas for architecture and process improvements.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in IT with extensive experience managing AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, Aurora DB, Kinesis, and Amazon Connect.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Red-Hat or Solaris, including shell scripting (Bash, Python) for operational automation.
- 3+ years of professional administration experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Proficiency with CI/CD integration tools (Git, Jenkins) and configuration management software (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
- 5+ years of experience working with large-scale, complex enterprise-level projects following PMI or similar project management methodologies.
- Proven track record of implementing industry-standard security practices and data protection safeguards.
- Strong background in building/using APIs and familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) for various cellular and tablet versions.
