We are seeking a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial Senior Project Manager — Retail E-Commerce to oversee macro program governance, navigate a complex multi-stakeholder corporate ecosystem, and drive critical technical integration streams to meet an aggressive launch timeline. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between corporate technology divisions, external enterprise vendors, and regional business units. While local operational managers oversee on-the-ground store enablement, you will maintain complete ownership over the macro program, technical system integrations, and overall delivery.
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Initial contract with a high likelihood of extension; long-term, multi-year project roadmap)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days per week on-site. Available office hubs: Toronto, Mississauga, or Ottawa)
Advantages
High-Visibility Digital Transformation: Lead a cornerstone, ground-up digital modernization initiative for one of Canada's most recognizable retail portfolios.
Complex Multi-Vendor Sandbox: Elevate your professional profile by orchestrating high-stakes integrations connecting custom enterprise systems with premier third-party platforms (including major e-commerce and automated fulfillment suites).
Strategic Autonomy & Influence: Act as the central program leader, enjoying the mandate to proactively identify bottlenecks, steer architectural alignments, and shape modern delivery practices.
Long-Term Continuity: Benefit from a highly stable 12-month initial term backed by an extensive, multi-year corporate transformation roadmap.
Responsibilities
API & Technical Integrations Management
System Integration Ownership: Oversee the technical integration workstreams connecting third-party e-commerce storefronts to internal legacy backend systems via secure APIs.
Dual-Fulfillment Coordination: Orchestrate technical API integrations to enable complex dual-fulfillment modalities (combining direct-from-store shipping systems with automated Customer Fulfillment Centers).
Identity Management Migration: Partner closely with enterprise cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to smoothly transition regional business units onto the parent company's newly unified, enterprise-wide Identity Management (IAM) platform.
Cross-Functional Governance & Alignment
Assortment Data Reconciliation: Collaborate with specialized supply chain and inventory teams to resolve technical and logistical gaps related to getting retail store articles correctly mapped, updated, and loaded into automated warehouse management systems.
Multi-Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary technical and business conduit facilitating continuous alignment between corporate IT squads, regional business units, external e-commerce software vendors, and logistics providers.
Governance & Delivery Tracking: Manage the end-to-end master project plan. Proactively identify delivery bottlenecks, execute risk mitigation strategies, and present clear progress metrics and health dashboards to senior executive leadership to preserve aggressive launch dates.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive professional experience operating as an IT Project Manager or Program Manager managing complex Retail E-Commerce and IT integration projects.
Technical Integration Literacy: Strong functional understanding of API-driven integrations, Identity Access Management (IAM) platforms, and warehouse/fulfillment logistics systems. (While deep coding is not required, you must confidently understand how distributed enterprise platforms plug together).
Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of managing deliverables and SLAs from major third-party vendors, software providers, and system integrators (SIs).
Complex Corporate Navigation: Demonstrated ability to establish trust and drive consensus in multi-stakeholder enterprise environments, specifically bridging the gap between a large corporate parent company and nimble, separate business units.
Entrepreneurial Mindset: A proactive "doer" who thrives in fast-paced environments, actively uncovers hidden blockers, and takes complete personal ownership of project execution.
