Responsibilities
- Project Governance: Develop and execute integrated project plans, charters, and schedules; manage work packages within the broader portfolio to ensure on-time delivery.
- Financial Management: Maintain a high level of fiscal control over large project budgets, including accurate forecasting, estimating, and reconciliation of actuals.
- Technical Implementation: Oversee the replacement and implementation of voice communication services, trunked radio systems, paging systems, and voice logging solutions.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Negotiate multi-year contracts for ongoing maintenance and support; collaborate with Legal and Procurement to ensure organizational interests are protected.
- Risk & Issue Mitigation: Proactively identify risks in 24x7 critical environments and develop robust options analysis and action plans for mitigation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage expectations of senior executives and steering committees, providing authoritative briefing notes and progress reports with a high degree of political acuity.
- Operational Coordination: Travel to provincial dispatch centres to coordinate the remediation of telephony and radio equipment for infrastructure modernization.
Qualifications
- Project Leadership: 10+ years of Program/Project Management experience using PMI standards and the SDLC.
- Technical Domain Knowledge: Demonstrated experience with Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) equipment, including Communication Console Systems (CCS) and Trunked Radio Systems.
- Complex Procurement: Experience leading projects from initial market scanning through to successful procurement and completion.
- Resource Management: Proven ability to identify, acquire, and lead diverse technical teams while resolving resourcing and interpersonal conflicts.
- Communication Excellence: Expert in preparing executive presentations and briefing notes; strong ability to communicate complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Critical Environments: Experience managing projects in 24x7 environments; familiarity with the land ambulance sector is considered a significant asset.
