Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and implementation of mission-critical initiatives, ensuring compliance with established methodologies, gating processes, and system quality standards.
- Develop and manage complex project budgets across multiple funding channels, ensuring rigorous fiscal control, forecasting, and reconciliation.
- Create and maintain detailed integrated project plans (IPP); perform variance analysis, adjust leads/lags, and monitor critical path activities to prevent slippage.
- Proactively identify potential risks and issues, articulating them to senior executives and recommending effective mitigation strategies.
- Establish and lead steering committees and stakeholder forums, managing relationships with senior staff and external delivery partners.
- Clarify roles for cross-functional teams (including unionized staff and consultants), resolve resourcing conflicts, and set clear performance expectations.
- Develop business transformation and adoption plans, using strategic actions to overcome resistance and facilitate smooth organizational transitions.
- Oversee data migration strategies, vendor contracts, and the translation of complex business needs into technical specifications.
Qualifications
- 5–9 years of project management experience leading complex IT initiatives involving business transformation and system design.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
- Expertise in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with MS Project, Planview, Jira, and Confluence.
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data migration, API integrations, and information security best practices.
- Experience with large-scale repository consolidations and digital standards (e.g., HL7 FHIR).
- Knowledge of privacy legislation requirements related to data and business processes.
- 5+ years of experience working with broad public-sector providers, including knowledge of registry building blocks (Client, Provider, Consent) and provincial IT approval processes.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of meeting strict deadlines in high-pressure environments.
