Responsibilities
Discovery Operations Engineering: Architect, configure, and maintain ServiceNow Discovery engines to build an accurate, real-time map of distributed physical and virtual assets.
MID Server Infrastructure Management: Manage the structural configuration, zoning, load balancing, and performance tuning of Management, Instrumentation, and Discovery (MID) Servers across various networks.
Custom Pattern Development: Design and implement custom probes, sensors, and discovery patterns to identify highly specialized on-premises business applications and cloud infrastructure components.
CMDB Population & Health Governance: Direct the structured population of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring absolute data integrity, duplication resolution, and clear relationship mapping.
Third-Party Tool Integration: Design, test, and deploy secure integrations bridging ServiceNow with external monitoring, asset tracking, and software management infrastructure tools.
Secure Access Orchestration: Establish credential-based network access parameters, securely deploying authentication metrics across target hardware, server clusters, and software nodes.
Network Protocol Optimization: Troubleshoot system connectivity and automate data polling requests across diverse communication frameworks and data query layers.
Technical Documentation & Walkthroughs: Maintain low-level system designs, configuration blueprints, and data schema rules, providing clear technical insights during agile sprint planning.
Qualifications
Core Platform Seniority: 5+ years of progressive professional experience as a ServiceNow Developer delivering specialized asset management or infrastructure visibility workflows.
Discovery & MID Server Expertise: Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining ServiceNow Discovery and MID Server infrastructures.
Custom Sensor & Pattern Creation: Minimum of 5+ years of verified expertise building and debugging custom discovery patterns, probes, and JavaScript sensors for multi-tier applications.
Ecosystem Integration Background: Minimum of 5+ years of proven experience integrating the platform with third-party data tracking systems and orchestrating automated CMDB updates.
Network Protocol Mastery: 5+ years of deep functional understanding of communication protocols—specifically SNMP, WMI, SSH, REST/SOAP APIs, and JDBC—and secure credential management.
Domain Breadth: Technical familiarity or awareness of parallel modules, such as Workplace Service Delivery (WSD) or Health and Safety (H&S) frameworks.
Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking, structural design documentation skills, and a track record of translating complex infrastructural needs into working configuration solutions.
