Our client is looking for a Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist for a 5 month contract in North York.
This is a hybrid role.
Advantages

• Location: Candidate MUST work 3 days onsite and 2 days remote - Starting October 20, resources are expected to come into the office 4 days per week. Starting January 5, resources are expected to come into the office 5 days per week. This is subject to change based on manager discretion or change in OPS policy.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for the health domain data platform.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Validate data engineering activities, ensuring data quality, integrity and optimal performance.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation and analysis.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure quality standards are met.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using appropriate tools.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation strategies.
• Provide clear and concise documentation and reports on testing outcomes.
Qualifications
MUST HAVES:
• Excellent documentation skills,including the ability to produce clear and concise test plans, test cases, and test summary reports.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, developers, business analysts, architects and project managers.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret test results, identify root causes of issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid models.
• Proficiency in test planning and strategy development, including risk-based testing approaches and test coverage analysis.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, PyTest) and scripting for automated test execution.
• Expertise in defect tracking and management, using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps, with a strong ability to triage and prioritize issues.
• Ability to design and execute test cases based on business requirements, technical specifications, and user stories.
• Experience in test data management, including data creation, masking, and validation in relational database environments.
• Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating testing into automated build and deployment processes.
Nice to Haves:
• Experience with API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or REST-assured is an asset
• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner is an asset.
