Responsibilities
Test Leadership & Strategy: Lead the design and execution of comprehensive test strategies, plans, and scenarios. Coordinate test policies at the organizational level while ensuring alignment with project-specific objectives.
End-to-End Testing: Provide detailed hands-on testing for cloud-based Java technologies, including JSON, RESTful Web Services, and HTML5.
Agile & Waterfall Integration: Manage testing activities across various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall), adapting plans based on test progress and introducing metrics to measure product quality.
Automation & Tooling: Provide strategic input into the test automation framework roadmap and select appropriate tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Postman) to support testing cycles.
Compliance & Accessibility: Execute rigorous AODA testing using industry-standard tools to ensure digital accessibility compliance.
Environment Management: Coordinate the usage and assignment of test environments with stakeholders and manage the incident/defect lifecycle from identification to resolution.
Reporting: Produce expert-level test summary reports and project documentation to provide quality assurance to executive sponsors.
Qualifications
Core Experience: 8+ years of QA testing experience across Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience testing Java-based web services and a deep understanding of SQL to support back-end data validation.
Tools: Proficient in Azure DevOps for defect tracking/management and Postman for API testing.
Automation: Ability to design and write automation test scripts and provide guidance on automation roadmaps.
Analytical Skills: Proven ability to translate complex business and customer requirements into a full-scope testing matrix.
Public Sector Asset: Previous experience within the public sector and knowledge of information systems related to soil management or GIS spatial datasets is highly desirable.
Education: Background in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
Scripting: Working knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Python is a plus.
