Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Lead hands-on training, interactive demonstrations, and e-learning sessions for both technical and non-technical users.
- Strategy & Planning: Document and deliver comprehensive training strategies and customized plans for individual regional centres, accounting for their unique operational needs.
- Content Development: Design and develop high-quality training materials, integrating future-state business processes with vendor-provided technical documentation.
- Performance Evaluation: Monitor, grade, and document participant performance through written and practical examinations; recommend remedial training as necessary.
- Field Support: Assist in provincial network coverage testing and site-to-site testing to ensure the technology is ready for live operational use.
- Leadership: Provide technical direction to students and staff by scheduling assignments, clarifying practices, and ensuring all project timelines are met.
- Travel: Travel extensively across Ontario (including Guelph, Hamilton, Sudbury, Vaughan, and other sites) to provide onsite support and instruction.
Qualifications
Core Experience: 5+ years of experience as a professional Trainer, specifically delivering large-scale technology strategies in operational or critical service environments.
Technical Domain: Demonstrated experience with Public Safety Radio Networks, telecom systems, and specialized dispatch technologies.
Knowledge Base: Familiarity with Radio/Telephone systems, GIS, spatial mapping concepts, and Automated Vehicle Locators (AVL).
Training Management: Proven ability to create and manage complex project schedules and province-wide training rollouts.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate complex technical concepts to audiences ranging from entry-level users to senior executives.
Industry Background: (Asset) Experience in a 24x7 critical environment or large-scale infrastructure operations.
Licensing: Must possess a valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s license (or equivalent) and be prepared for frequent, extended travel throughout the province.
