Our client, a leader in the mechanical services industry, is looking to add 2–3 skilled Service Plumbers (Journeymen and 3rd/4th Year Apprentices) to their Edmonton facility. This is a critical hiring push designed for proactive problem-solvers who can manage service calls efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
As a Service Plumber, you will handle a diverse range of assembly, maintenance, and emergency repair tasks for plumbing and gas systems, working independently or guiding junior team members depending on your experience level.

Environment: Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Service
Wage: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour for Journeymen (Based on ability). Apprentices paid on standard progression: 3rd Year (75% of Jman rate), 4th Year (85% of Jman rate).

Responsibilities
What will you be doing?
- Service & Repairs: Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot plumbing systems, replacing defective parts, mending broken pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
- System Installations: Assemble, cut, thread, bend, and install pipe sections, fixtures, valves, and appliances (water heaters, dishwashers, sinks, toilets).
- Gasfitting Operations: Install, inspect, repair, and maintain gas lines, meters, regulators, and heating units across residential and commercial settings.
- Testing & Diagnostics: Pressure test plumbing systems using water or air to accurately locate and isolate system leaks.
- Blueprint Review: Read and interpret blueprints, building codes, and specifications to plan layout sequences and calculate material needs.
- Team Leadership: Journeymen will mentor and direct apprentices on-site, managing workflow and ensuring safety compliance.
Qualifications
What are we looking for in a candidate?
- Certification: Valid Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter Ticket OR registered 3rd/4th Year Apprentice in Alberta.
- Documentation: A clean, valid Driver's Abstract (required for operating company service vehicles).
- Tools: Must possess basic hand tools (specialty and heavy tools are fully supplied).
- Technical Versatility: Proven experience with pipe assembly techniques (soldering, brazing, threading, solvent welding) across storm, sanitary, and gas systems.
