Our client, is seeking a deeply experienced, senior Software Quality Specialist IV to join their Mobile and Online Technology Testing division.
...
In this advanced technical automation role, you will be a core contributor responsible for driving the reliability, performance, and quality of consumer-facing digital banking platforms. Your primary mandate is to perform hands-on engineering activities—including the creation, scaling, and maintenance of robust automated test frameworks for web and mobile interfaces. Working within a high-performing internal technology group, you will eliminate manual testing gaps, validate microservices, and embed advanced automated testing protocols directly into the release lifecycle.
Duration: 1-Year Contract
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days per week on-site at the corporate office, 3 days remote. Note: Anchor days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and the schedule could potentially transition to 4 days in-office in the future).
Advantages
Tier-1 Digital Scale: Own the quality engineering frameworks that protect high-volume, consumer-facing mobile and browser-based retail banking applications.
Advanced Automation Ownership: Lead the continuous improvement of sophisticated, scalable testing frameworks rather than simply executing script runs.
Long-Term Strategic Impact: Secure a stable, foundational 12-month contract within an elite QA division that prioritizes technical excellence and modern engineering patterns.
No Customer Data Exposure Constraints: Work efficiently within simulated, high-fidelity mock environments without the administrative overhead of handling live production customer PII.
Responsibilities
Hands-on Framework Engineering: Design, implement, and extend highly maintainable, automated test suites and frameworks to support continuous integration and delivery.
API Validation: Architect and execute automated verification routines for backend microservices and API layers utilizing automated request testing libraries.
Defect Diagnostics & Triage: Identify, document, isolate, and track system anomalies, collaborating directly with software developers and architects to resolve runtime issues before release cutovers.
Sprint Ceremony Collaboration: Devote 1-2 hours per day to team collaboration, sprint retrospectives, backlog grooming, and technical touchpoints within internal engineering squads.
Traceability & Governance: Maintain testing libraries, author technical execution plans, and ensure end-to-end traceability between business logic requirements and automated test scripts.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 8+ years of progressive professional experience operating in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), QA Automation, or Software Engineering roles.
Core Programming Mastery: Deep, expert-level hands-on development experience writing clean, scalable code in Java.
Web UI Automation: Proven expert-level experience using Selenium to manage element mapping, complex web actions, and cross-browser visual validation.
Backend API Automation: Extensive, referenceable history validating RESTful APIs and JSON schemas using REST Assured.
Soft Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal capability; an adaptable, meticulous self-starter who thrives in high-pressure, fast-paced team settings.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Assets
Prior professional experience operating within a Banking or Financial Institution.
Hands-on mobile automation experience leveraging Appium for native iOS and Android application testing.
Holding professional industry certifications in Java Programming, Selenium, or Appium.
Summary
If you are a veteran Software Quality Engineer who pairs a deep mastery of Java development with extensive Selenium and REST Assured automation experience, this 1-year contract offers an exceptional tech canvas. Bring your engineering discipline, microservices validation savvy, and meticulous attention to detail to a market-leading digital platform team today!
