As a senior systems engineer, you will bridge the gap between software development, cloud infrastructure, and operational reliability. Operating within a hybrid work model in Toronto, you will monitor distributed systems, configure real-time alerting, troubleshoot performance and latency bottlenecks, and manage Kubernetes-based microservices architectures. This position demands a technical systems authority with deep Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise, strong CI/CD experience, and a proven track record of maintaining high availability across high-volume production platforms.

Configure, refine, and manage enterprise observability, alerting, and telemetry frameworks to detect and prevent system anomalies.
Lead production incident management, triaging complex technical issues, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing long-term remediation.
Troubleshoot performance, latency, and scalability bottlenecks across microservices architectures and containerized applications.
Deploy, maintain, and support Kubernetes-based environments (GKE) to ensure application resilience and continuous uptime.
Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines utilizing Jenkins for seamless production releases.
Utilize distributed tracing and log analytics platforms to monitor application transactions and system dependencies.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering, infrastructure, and development teams to drive operational readiness and reliability best practices.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, operational runbooks, and incident post-mortem reports.
Qualifications
Core Technical & Systems Engineering Requirements
Cloud Platform Mastery: Strong, mandatory hands-on systems engineering experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Kubernetes Orchestration: Direct experience managing, supporting, and troubleshooting containerized environments using Kubernetes / GKE.
Observability & Telemetry Tooling: Extensive experience configuring and managing monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace, or Splunk.
CI/CD & Deployment Experience: Practical experience with production deployment processes and continuous delivery pipelines using Jenkins.
Production Incident Management: Proven track record in production support, distributed tracing, incident triage, and latency troubleshooting across complex enterprise applications.
Preferred Experience & Assets
Retail / eCommerce Context: Prior experience supporting large-scale, high-traffic retail or eCommerce platforms is a strong asset.
Microservices Architecture: In-depth understanding of distributed microservices design principles and cloud networking.
Soft Skills & Delivery Attributes
Analytical Troubleshooting: Superior problem-solving capabilities to diagnose and resolve complex distributed system failures under pressure.
