Currently operating on an Oracle database and Informatica PowerCenter, the team is launching a high-priority platform migration over to Snowflake. As a senior specialist, you will act as a true self-starter, jumping directly into the project without baseline training to ensure data integrity, validate complex data transformations, and support this large-scale cloud migration.
Location: Downtown Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office)
Position Type: 6-Month Contract (Strong potential for extension)
Hours: 35 hours per week (Strict corporate policy)

Responsibilities
Data Validation & Testing: Design, write, and execute complex SQL test scripts to validate end-to-end data integrity, ETL pipelines, and corporate financial transformations.
Cloud Migration Quality Assurance: Actively test and support the migration of data environments from legacy Oracle and Informatica architectures to the Snowflake cloud platform.
Test Lifecycle Management: Create, organize, and manage comprehensive data test cases and defect tracking using Jira and Xray.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner daily with internal business groups, functional QA testers, and data developers to resolve defects and ensure smooth delivery.
Autonomous Execution: Proactively manage your own testing deliverables, driving quality assurance processes forward with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Senior-Level Autonomy: 7+ years of experience as a Senior QA Analyst/Engineer, with a proven track record of delivering immediately in fast-paced contract environments.
- Database Expertise: Exceptional, advanced proficiency with Oracle databases and writing complex, high-performance SQL queries.
- Snowflake & SnowSQL: Direct, hands-on experience with the Snowflake data platform, SnowSQL scripting, and familiarity or exposure to Cortex code.
- Informatica Utilities: Professional experience validating data transformations driven by Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
- Test Management Tools: Direct proficiency utilizing Jira and Xray for test case creation, management, and execution.
- Communication & Collaboration: Elite interpersonal and communication skills; must be comfortable translating technical defects to business teams and developers without friction.
Asset Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
- Prior experience handling large-scale data migrations from on-premises systems to cloud environments.
- Strong domain experience within the Insurance or Banking sectors.
