Responsibilities
Safely align, fit, and weld structural steel assemblies using standard FCAW and SMAW welding methods.
Analyze technical blueprints and shop drawings to ensure every build meets exact quality specifications.
Operate core shop tools and heavy machinery, including overhead cranes and cutting torches, to prep materials.
Collaborate with fitters, shop personnel, and Quality Assurance inspectors to maintain high quality standards.
Maintain our proactive safety culture by completing regular hazard assessments and safety checks.
Qualifications
Trade Credential: Valid Journeyperson certificate or registered Apprentice Welder status.
Certifications (Asset): Active CWB all-position tickets (FCAW/SMAW) are considered a strong asset.
Experience: Proven track record in a structural steel fabrication facility, preferably working on skids or heavy steel.
Technical Skills: Advanced ability to interpret blueprints, execute precise layouts, and handle tight-tolerance fit-ups.
Key Attributes: Highly reliable, detail-focused, and committed to working in a team-first shop culture.
Logistics: Dependable personal transport to access our Acheson facility for all scheduled shifts.
