We are representing a leading, independent Canadian commercial equipment leasing and finance provider backed by strong institutional investment. Having achieved significant national expansion through both organic growth and regional acquisitions, our client is looking for highly motivated Account Managers – Business Development to lead geographic territory expansion in the GTA and Edmonton markets.
...
This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial, results-driven professional who thrives in a low-bureaucracy, "work hard, play hard" culture. You will be given the autonomy of a self-employed business owner, empowered to hunt, originate, and build out your own regional book of business without the constraints of heavy corporate red tape.
Advantages
Our client offers highly flexible and lucrative compensation architecture designed to match your immediate portable volume, alongside a robust perks package:
Tailored Compensation Models:
Ramp-up Structure: For those transitioning accounts, a competitive base salary ($75,000 - $85,000) plus a generous forgivable draw and an incentive commission structure, targeted at ~$125,000 in your first year to de-risk your transition.
Senior Originator Structure: For established professionals with highly portable books, a 100% uncapped commission model (25% on GM/GP) with target annual earnings ranging from $160,000 to $300,000+.
Work-Life Autonomy: 100% remote, home-office setup with a high degree of independence.
Comprehensive Benefits: Robust group coverage (Health, Dental, Health Care Spending Account) with the employer covering 75% of the premiums.
Wealth Building: Corporate RRSP matching plan.
Vacation: Open to matching your current tenure entitlement (up to 4 weeks of vacation).
Fully Expensed Travel: Comprehensive corporate coverage for all business expenses, including full mileage reimbursement per kilometer and coverage for client entertainment and travel.
Responsibilities
Business Development: Act as a pure "hunter" to drive geographic territory expansion and increase market penetration within your designated region.
Origination: Direct equipment leasing and vendor finance origination across diverse mid-ticket asset classes, including agriculture, medical, aesthetics, manufacturing, landscaping, construction, and office products.
Network Building: Build and manage your own regional book of business from the ground up, establishing strong relationships with a network of equipment vendors, dealers, and commercial end-users.
Territory Management: Work 100% remotely from a home office, conducting extensive regional travel (approximately 90% road travel) to meet with clients, partners, and prospects.
Deal Structuring: Leverage your professional credit knowledge and transaction-structuring literacy to guide deals from origination through to funding.
Qualifications
Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience in commercial equipment finance, leasing, or commercial lease brokerage.
Specialization: Demonstrated success in lease financing origination. Experience in medical, manufacturing, agriculture, or construction sectors is highly preferred. (Note: Backgrounds strictly in commercial transportation/trucking or physical machinery sales are not applicable for this role).
Portable Network: Must possess an active, portable network of equipment vendors, dealers, and commercial end-users. You must be a proactive generator, not reliant on inbound leads or retail branch referrals.
Financial Literacy: Strong professional credit and transaction-structuring literacy is required.
Stability: A proven track record of stability and career loyalty. Bank-trained sales professionals are highly desirable.
Education: A University degree is preferred.
Requirements: A valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle are mandatory for regional travel.
