Responsibilities
Contract for 6 months, possibility of permanent or being hired for another position internally :
- Effectively and consistently plan routes
- Print invoices for route planning, including all inbound cargo
- Collect and sort invoices for route planning or for other departments
- Plan city and highway deliveries for the next day, taking into account freight size and volume, appointments, special customer requirements, and equipment needs
- Collaborate with the Customer Care department for the delivery of freight that missed service
- Coordinate and communicate with the warehouse supervisor and dispatch for additional routes
- Maintain an up-to-date log/notes regarding conversations with drivers, special requests, and Montreal-based trailer numbers. Send emails to operations as needed for changes to customer accounts (special instructions, equipment type, etc.)
- Complete yard checks
And additional tasks!
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar role (route planning, customer service, or dispatching) within the trucking industry
- Experience with Truckmate, Word and Excel softwares would be a major asset
- Fluently in French as 85% of customers are French
- Comfortable working the night shift
- Strong communication and organizational skills
