Position Title: Accountant II
Location: Toronto, ON (Downtown – 77 Bloor Street West)
Position Type: 12-Month Contract (Extension and Permanent Conversion possible based on performance and business needs)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Overtime may be required based on volume)
Work Model: Hybrid (5 days on-site for the initial 2-week training period; 4 days on-site / Work-From-Home on Fridays thereafter)
Hourly Rate: $26.50/hr

Asset & Transfer Validation: Validate complex transfer forms, including estate-related transactions, securities, and complex RRSP and TFSA documentation.
Compliance & Risk Management: Review intricate legal and financial documents in a high-risk environment to ensure absolute accuracy and strict adherence to industry regulations and procedural standards.
Data & System Management: Use advanced Excel functions (Macros, Pivot Tables) to perform data validation, maintain precise recordkeeping, and support day-to-day operational workflows.
Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess completeness and conformance to reporting standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in daily team meetings (approx. 30–35 minutes) and interact professionally with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve documentation discrepancies.
Qualifications
Education: Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related financial discipline is required.
Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience in an accounting, finance, or document-review environment.
Hard Skills (Must-Haves)
Advanced MS Excel: Proven proficiency with Macros and Pivot Tables for data validation and reporting.
Tech Savviness: Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Confluence, and SharePoint.
Compliance/KYC Background: Demonstrated experience reviewing complex financial/legal documents and handling asset validation within a high-risk, regulated environment.
Soft Skills
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; comfortable interacting with various internal and external teams.
Meticulous Accuracy: High attention to detail and critical thinking skills are absolute requirements to prevent errors in a high-risk setting.
Team Player: A personable, collaborative individual who works cohesively within a team environment.

Prior experience working within a Banking or Financial Institution.
