Responsibilities
• Execute core accounts receivable functions for multiple properties, including processing deposits, deposit accounting, move-ins, and move-outs.
• Perform all monthly accounting functions for investor portfolios by processing rent payments, generating invoices, and directly contacting clients for payments.
• Process all monthly pre-authorized payments and bank submissions, thoroughly reviewing authorized payment returns and post-dated return cheques.
• Review aged receivables, process N4 forms, and prepare all necessary Landlord and Tenant Board filings to send to third-party legal counsel.
• Execute the end-of-month close for all Gateway properties concerning accounts receivable.
• Liaise frequently with the head office revenue accountant to review and maintain accurate rent payments and bank reconciliations.
• Process essential journal entries for any Real Estate approved client applications.
• Prepare, customize, and analyze daily outstanding rent reports.
• Prepare financial and operational reports for the Director of Gateway Operations.
• Prepare, review, and submit quarterly managerial reports and quarterly accounting reports.
• Prepare the monthly accounting calendar alongside urbanization reports.
• Oversee additional property transactions including processing staff expenses and managing monthly renewals (N1's & N2's).
Qualifications
• A college diploma or certificate in business administration or accounting is highly preferred.
• Must possess practical, hands-on working knowledge of Yardi Voyager software.
• Previous background in residential accounting is considered a valuable asset for this finance & accounting position.
• Must have a valid ability to travel within the greater Toronto area as required by the role's demands
