Responsibilities
Develop and optimize interactive jobs supporting multiple users, as well as batch jobs supporting performance-sensitive payment processing.
Own the end-to-end Application Programming Lifecycle, taking full responsibility for core development and rigorous Unit Testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain strong stakeholder engagement through clear and effective communication.
Maintain, modernize, and build applications utilizing various generations of IBM AS400 technologies.
Qualifications
3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe/AS400 environments.
IBM AS400 RPG Development: Proven expertise ranging from legacy RPG III to modern ILE RPG (RPG III, IV, and ILE).
IBM AS400 Control Language (CL): Strong development background spanning from CLP to ILE-CL.
IBM AS400 DB2: Deep experience with SQL, externally described Physical Files (PF) and Logical Files (LF), as well as legacy internally described file processing.
Tooling: Proficient with IBM AS400 Programming Development Manager (PDM) and Query.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Prior experience within a major Canadian bank (specifically Scotiabank or similar financial institutions) is highly preferred.
