Responsibilities
Perform high-quality B-Pressure welds on carbon steel and alloy piping systems.
Execute welds to meet strict ASME and CWB codes as required by project specifications.
Read and interpret complex blueprints, spool drawings, and isometrics.
Complete necessary weld mapping and documentation to ensure full traceability.
Maintain high productivity levels to meet demanding project deadlines without compromising safety.
Collaborate with the fit-up and QC teams to ensure seamless production flow.
Blueprint Proficiency: Interpret complex isometric drawings and weld maps with complete accuracy.
Qualifications
Current Alberta B-Pressure Certification is mandatory.
Proven experience welding pipe in a shop fabrication setting.
Proficiency in SMAW and GMAW/MCAW processes; GTAW experience is an asset.
Ability to pass a pre-employment weld test (typically a 6-inch schedule 80 or similar).
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must have reliable transportation and own standard welding PPE (helmet, gloves, etc.).
Commitment to a "Safety First" mentality in a busy shop environment.
